The new president of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) will be Martin Venhart. The Assembly of the Slovak Republic decided on this in a secret vote on Tuesday, which chose him from among two candidates. SAS informs about it on its website. He will replace the current chairman Pavel Šajgalík, who did not run again.
“The chairman of the SAS has a four-year term of office. Martin Venhart will hold the position from 2025 to 2029,” approximates the SAS.
Based on the resolution of the Assembly of the Slovak Republic, its chairman will notify the Minister of Education Tomáš Drucker (Hlas-SD) of the results of the elections and the proposal to appoint Venhart as the chairman of the Slovak Republic by December 2nd. The President of the Slovak Republic appoints the President of the Slovak Republic.
