Homemade cough syrups are most often made with onion or ginger. Both products have specific, spicy flavors, which is why are reluctantly acceptedespecially by children. To combine business with pleasure, at home I prepare cough and hoarse syrup from pears.
Pear syrup is home-made health supportwhen the immune system does not work as it should. As the name suggests, it is prepared on the basis of pears, which give the whole thing not only a delicious taste, but also numerous health properties. They work both anti-inflammatory and moisturizing. They will reduce hoarseness and help expectorate residual secretions. Honey will also work in a similar way.

As a result Pear syrup can be used as a remedy for:
- cough (dry and wet)
- hoarseness
- strengthening the body
- fever.
The recipe for pear syrup is very simple and… effect final is amazing. Just a few tablespoons is enough relieve the symptoms of persistent cough and feel better. It tastes sweet, slightly spicy and herbal, but the most important thing is that it works wonders on the body.
Ingredients:
- 2 pears
- 1 liter of water
- 4 tablespoons of water
- 5 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 tablespoon dried thyme)
- 6 cloves.
Wash the pears, peel and core. Cut the fruit into smaller pieces, place them in a pot and pour water over them. Into the dish add thyme and cloves. Start heating everything, and once it boils, reduce the heat and cook for 20 minutes.
After this time remove the pot off the heat and set aside to cool. When the pear decoction is lukewarm, add honey to it and mix until ingredients are combined. Strain the prepared pear cough syrup and pour it into a bottle. Store it in the refrigerator. Homemade syrup drink three times a day.
