The Public Ministry requested bail of 500 thousand euros from Manuel Serrão and António Cardoso and 300 thousand euros from António Branco and also wanted the three accused to be prohibited from accessing community funds while the investigation is ongoing.
O Central Criminal Investigation Court decided to maintain the coercive measures applied in Operation Maestro. OThe defendants Manuel Serrão, Antonio Cardoso and Antonio Branco are left with an Identity and Residence Term, the least burdensome measure.
The defense’s arguments convinced the court not to change these measures.
The Public Ministry requested bonds of 500 thousand euros from Manuel Serrão and António Cardoso and 300 thousand euros from António Branco and also wanted the three defendants to be prohibited from accessing community funds while the investigation was ongoing, but the Court decided not to worsen the measures already applied.
Manuel Serrão’s lawyer, Pedro Marinho Falcão, says that the “first defeat of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in this process”, as it has not been demonstrated that there is any danger of disruption to the investigation, criminal activity or continued access to community funds by part of the defendants.
