British Queen Camilla is heartbroken after her beloved dog Beth dies. Wife of King Karol III. adopted Beth from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in South London in 2011. The following year, a female Jack Russell terrier, Bluebell, joined the family.
Beth had an incurable tumor and had to be put to sleep over the weekend. “Sad to say goodbye to Beth, the Queen’s much-loved companion from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, who brought such joy whether on walks, helping with official duties or curled up by the fire,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman said when announcing the death of a member of the royal family.
The royal family shared a series of photos of the King and Queen with Beth and Bluebell. Beth and Bluebell were so loved by Camilla that they even appeared on the Queen’s coronation dress, where they were immortalized in gold embroidery.
In 2020, Beth helped Camille unveil the plaque as they jointly opened the new Battersea Dog and Cat Rescue Stations. The Queen gave home to Beth in 2011when she was a three-month-old unwanted puppy, and Bluebell in 2012 after she was found wandering alone in a London park with a skin disease.
“The nice thing about dogs is that you can sit them, you can talk to them for a long time, you can be upset, you can be sad and they just sit and look at you and wag their tails,” the British Queen announced some time ago.
