How to drain a washing machine
If the washing machine does not drain the water, it is important to close the water supply first. This will ensure that no one else gets in. Then switch off the washing machine using the on/off button, and then pull out the mains plug.
Once your damaged appliance is turned off, you can begin repairs. Open the washing machine and remove the service cover. Then drain all the water using the drain hose or by slowly removing the cover from the pump.
Next, take your cleaning supplies, especially a decent arsenal of cloths. Use rags to remove any remaining water. Then clean all the inside of the washer, the thread and the pump housing until the pump rotor can no longer turn.
You can then put the pump cover back on. Make sure you screw it in really tight. Now you need to test if the pump is sealed enough and if it works.
You can do it without help
To check the pump for leaks and performance, pour a liter of plain water into the detergent dispenser. Afterwards, check really thoroughly if there are any leaks.
If not, it means the pump is sealing properly and you can start the draining program. And you’re done. Now the washing machine should drain water again without any problems. You can see that it can be done even without the help of experts.
