The singer published an apology this Wednesday (20), after an episode of disagreement with a roadie, a professional who works with artists and bands to provide technical support, during a performance at the Rock The Mountain festival, in Petrópolis, in . The case occurred last Sunday, the 17th. According to the statement, the artist also faced technical problems during the performance.
“In view of this situation and under great stress, Ed spoke inappropriately to one of the team’s roadies, as shown in the video broadcast in various media since then”, stated the note. The professional would also have worked “satisfactorily” at a show by the singer held on the 10th. The statement also says that “Ed immediately recognized that his attitude towards the professional in question was excessive and driven purely by emotion”. He reportedly apologized in the second half of the performance and later apologized to the roadie.
The singer also expressed his desire for the professional to remain part of his team. “Technical and communication adjustments will be made privately, between the team and the artist, as has always been done, with respect and clarity,” the statement continued. Remember the case
Ed Motta performed at Rock The Mountain last Sunday. A video circulating on social media shows the singer having a disagreement with the roadie before and after the performance. The recording begins with Motta sitting at the keyboard, at a moment when he addresses the still unidentified professional and says, into the microphone: “Any roadie knows this. You’re out, man. I said you would stay, but it’s the last show you’ll do.” The audience seemed little interested in the presentation.
Then, Motta starts playing a song accompanied by his band. It still seems to have some technical problem. Motta looks to the side and sees the roadie moving on stage. Once the microphone was out, he shouted towards the professional: “Son of a b***h! F***!” The roadie then tries to get closer to the singer. That’s when Motta screams, making a gesture to avoid getting closer. “No! Get away, get away!”
The audience, noticing Motta’s attitude, begins to boo him and give him a negative sign, disapproving the artist’s behavior. A fan of daily lives, Motta has already been involved in other controversies. In June, he called hip-hop fans “dumb.” Soon after, he turned back. He posted a video in which he apologized. “Who has never made a mistake?” he asked.
Watch the video:
I don’t like posting negative things, but this is nonsense of such a regrettable level that it cannot be ignored. Once again Ed Motta shows himself to be a great artist but a very small human being.
