The Russians did not specify in which areas the missiles and drones were destroyed, or which targets were attacked.
In the last 24 hours, Russian air defenses shot down two British Storm Shadow missiles, six American HIMARS missiles and 67 drones on its territory. This was announced on Thursday by the Russian Ministry of Defense, TASR reports based on reports from the Reuters and AP agencies.
“Air defenses shot down two British-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles, six US-made HIMARS missiles and 67 drones,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily summary of the “special military operation,” as Russia calls the war in Ukraine. He did not specify in which areas the missiles and drones were destroyed, nor what targets they attacked.
AP reports that this is not the first announcement by Moscow about shooting down British long-range Storm Shadow missiles. According to its own statement, Russia shot down several such missiles some time ago over the annexed Crimean peninsula. However, the Bloomberg agency reported that Ukraine attacked Russian territory with these missiles on Wednesday for the first time ever.
