During the morning missile attack, the Russians also used an intercontinental ballistic missile, which they fired from the Astrakhan region.

The Russian missile attack was directed mainly at the city of Dnipro, where, according to the air force, the Russians targeted some industrial enterprises and critical infrastructure.

According to the Ukrainian army, they also used a Kinzhal ballistic missile and several cruise missiles.

The Ukrainian Air Force did not specify what type of intercontinental missile it was, but there was speculation in Ukraine on Wednesday that the Russians could use a Rubezh RS-26 ballistic missile. This was reported by some Ukrainian Telegram accounts, but this information could not be independently verified.

It was speculated that its possible use in a combined attack could allegedly be the reason why several foreign embassies were closed in Kyiv on Wednesday.

The Rubezh missile can hit targets at a distance of six thousand kilometers, the weight of its warhead reaches 1,200 kilograms, which corresponds to the power of at least three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Ukrainian media point out.

On Wednesday, the website reminded that the Rubež rocket can also be a carrier of nuclear warheads.

The Ukrainians say they shot down six of the seven cruise missiles. “As for other missiles – without significant consequences,” their air forces claim on the social network.

The website, referring to the head of the military administration in the Dnepropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak, reports that in Dnipro, a Russian attack damaged an industrial enterprise and two fires are registered in the city. Local Telegram accounts posted a video of a tower block on fire that was allegedly hit by a missile.

The Russians used an intercontinental missile for the first time during the attack against Ukraine. This happened after the Ukrainians used American ATACMS and British Storm Shadow missiles to hit military targets on Russian territory.

We will update the report.
