Why do we no longer see Gary Sinise, the ex-star of the series and unforgettable traveling companion of Forrest Gumpin cinema and television for several years now? In an interview given to our American colleagues at Fox News, the 69-year-old actor reveals the reasons for this absence this Tuesday, November 19.

“Traveling away from my family was impossible given what we were going through (…) My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Then my son was diagnosed with another rare form of cancer (him in the spine, nbdlr), just two months later. His fight was particularly difficult because he was battling cancer that had no cure (…) Finding medicine and doctors, finding someone who could do something for him was a full-time job (…) Furthermore, as the cancer progressed, he became more and more infirm and therefore needed more and more care.”
