Two men die after electric shock while handling a water pump in Sena Madureira

A tragedy marked the night of this Wednesday (20) at Projeto Oriente, on Ramal Nova Olinda, in Sena Madureira, in the interior of Acre. João Marcos, aged 26, and Jackson, both residents of the region, died after receiving a strong electric shock while handling a water pump in a dam.

The two men were trying to repair the equipment when the accident happened. According to reports from residents in the area, the bomb had problems, and handling ended up resulting in a fatal shock.

An audio shared in message groups detailed the impact of the tragedy on the local community.

“They went to work on a pump that was having a problem in the dam and then the news came that they had received an electrical shock. Say a prayer for the family, so that they can come to terms with a tragedy like this,” said an emotional neighbor.

The bodies were removed and sent for forensic examination. The atmosphere in the community is emotional, especially among those who knew the victims since childhood.

Local authorities have not yet released further information about the circumstances of the accident, but warn of the risks of handling electrical equipment in humid areas.
