(Reuters) – WEG stated this Wednesday (20) that it will invest approximately 62 million dollars in expanding production capacity at its manufacturing park located in Rugao, China.
In a statement to the market, the company informed that the plan aims to meet growing market demand and increase the company’s presence in the region. The plan also includes the construction of a 30,000 m² building with capacity for manufacturing high voltage motors, with completion of this stage scheduled for 2026, said WEG.
Currently, the company has six factories in China and employs around 3 thousand employees.

The announcement was made on the day that Chinese President Xi Jinping makes a state visit to Brasília, and at a time when Brazil and China raise the status of their global strategic partnership.
