The Government of Acre launched an educational video on its social networks this Thursday (21) as part of the November Blue campaign, highlighting the importance of preventing prostate cancer.
The action, aimed at raising awareness among men about the necessary health care, includes guidance on preventive exams, such as the PSA (blood test that helps detect prostate problems) and digital rectal examination, which are essential for early diagnosis of the disease.
Presenter Ayres Rocha, who overcame prostate cancer diagnosed in 2014, participates in the campaign to encourage men to prioritize their health. Ayres faced the disease with determination, taking more than a year away from his professional activities to focus on treatment. Now cured, he reinforces the importance of early diagnosis and medical monitoring to ensure recovery and quality of life.
Campaign actions
In addition to the educational video, the campaign includes the distribution of blue ribbons, a symbol of the movement, to raise awareness among the male population about the need for regular consultations and preventive exams, especially for men over 50 years old or over 45 with a family history of Cancer.
In the video, professionals simulate a medical consultation, explaining the necessary care before the exams and detailing what should be done if abnormal results are found. The initiative highlights that prevention goes beyond the month of November, being an ongoing commitment to health.
Ayres Rocha as an example of overcoming
