The Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, signed this Thursday, in Belém (PA), a decree authorizing the auction of isolated systems, with a forecast of 452 million reais in investments.
The government’s expectation with the auction, which should be held in May 2025, is to contract 49 MW to serve 169 thousand people in ten locations in the Legal Amazon, initially one in the State of Pará and nine in Amazonas, according to a note from the ministry .
According to the ministry, of the total projects in the auction, 22% must be renewable energy, a “measure aligned” with the goals stipulated by the Energias da Amazônia program, created by the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Among the alternatives envisaged is the use of a technique called hybridization, which uses solar energy with storage combined with thermal generation.
The winning companies must complete the works by December 2027.
The Energias da Amazônia program aims to benefit 3.1 million people served by so-called isolated systems, which are not part of the National Interconnected System (SIN).

Among the benefits foreseen with the initiative is the reduction in the use of diesel in the electrical generation of these locations, contributing to the decarbonization of the Amazon region and a reduction in the Fuel Consumption Bill (CCC).
