Mayor of São Paulo gave an interview to Pânico this Thursday (21), spoke about his relationship with the former president and projected elections for 2026
In an interview with Panicthe mayor of São Paulo, (MDB), considered the possibility of (Republicans) being a viable candidate for the Presidency if they are unable to reverse their ineligibility by 2026. Nunes praised Tarcísio, current governor of São Paulo, for his management and delivery skills of results, mentioning infrastructure and sanitation projects that are underway in the State. Additionally, the mayor expresses his desire to complete his current term before considering a run for state government. “If Bolsonaro is unable to reverse his ineligibility, Tarcísio is the best name, with all due respect to Ronaldo Caiado, governor of Goiás, and Ratinho Júnior, governor of Paraná.”
In addition to political issues, the mayor addresses significant local challenges, such as public safety and the city’s infrastructure. He mentions the increase in police personnel through Operation Delegated and highlights the need for improvements in the electricity service, criticizing Enel’s performance in São Paulo. Nunes also highlights the importance of reurbanization and housing projects, stating that the city is on the right path to reducing unemployment and improving the quality of life of São Paulo residents.
Finally, Nunes emphasized the need to continue investing in education, health and infrastructure to sustain the city’s economic growth.
