Ruben Amorim wants to focus "game by game", but is confident in Manchester United

In his first press conference as Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim says he wants to focus “game by game”. THE Portuguese is aware of mission and responsibility that lies ahead.

Coach Ruben Amorim, who is coaching Manchester United, believes he will have “difficult” moments in England but is confident, despite the club’s less good moment. He also says he is aware of the responsibility that lies ahead.

Just as he did when he arrived at Sporting, the Portuguese coach says, in his first press conference as head coach of Manchester United, that the objective at the English club is focus “game by game”.

“It seems like we are going back a little to the past, to things that were impossible to do and that could happen,” he says, referring to the Alvalade club.

The debut on the bench for the ‘Red Devils’ is scheduled for Sunday, at Ipswich Town’s home ground in the Premier League.

Without publicly admitting a goal for the end of the season, the former “Lions” coach says he believes it will be “judged” for the final classification, but it devalues.

“A lot of people will say it’s not enough. My goal is just to win this game. Having another week to prepare for the next game. I know it’s a very difficult job. I know not many people believe it. In Portugal we already experience this. Let’s see what will happen this time,” he says.

The Portuguese explains that Manchester United is a “winning club” and, therefore, cannot play “defensively”, but rather “look for the ball”.

“We have of to look also for the championship. As people here like of a game of attack e intense“.

Ruben Amorim hopes to bring great joy to Manchester United fans. “People have a lot of hope that the club goes back to where it has always been. This is a great responsibility”, he points out.

The Portuguese coach is aware of mission and responsibility that lies ahead at the club and, therefore, ensures that will “focus on work”.

“As expectations high as times is a problem because we have to know manage these expectations. Sabemos what or to take time and that no or to be easy and that we are going to go through difficult times”, he admits.

I want them to win all the competitions. I and the technical team will be rooting for them”, he states.

Already in a former Manchester United player, reveals that he was “very difficult” to leave Sporting in the middle of the season, “his boys in the middle of the season”.

He admits that, after his first contacts with Manchester United, he realized that it was “his place”: “I think it was the right club at the right time for me.”
