Are you a fan of quick recipes? If you are exposed to a situation where you don’t have much time to prepare a treat, you will certainly appreciate the plum cake, which is quick as a hurricane. It is easy to prepare, tasty and ready in no time. All you need is a few simple ingredients to mix together and then just wait for the cake to bake.

Ingredients needed

Before starting work, prepare all the necessary ingredients. You will need 50 ml of oil, 1 egg, 1 cup of milk, 1 packet of baking powder, the same amount of granulated sugar and 2 cups of semi-coarse flour and, of course, plums. Their quantity is entirely up to you. You use 1 tablespoon of butter, the same amount of granulated sugar and semi-coarse flour for the crumb.

Preparation procedure

Put all the listed ingredients for the dough in a bowl and mix them properly to make a compact, smooth and thin dough. Then grease the baking sheet and sprinkle it carefully with flour. Then pour the dough into it and arrange the pre-washed, pitted and halved plums on its surface.

Preparation of crumbs

Put the specified amount of flour, butter and sugar in a bowl and then combine them with your fingers into crumbs. The resulting mass should not resemble a continuous dough, but must crumble into small crumbs or fluff, as its name indicates.

You can also prepare the crumb in another way. First, melt the butter, pour it into the sugar and flour and mix the mixture well with a fork. Then let cool. If the crumb is not too crumbly, you can add a little flour, but it is important to keep the 1:1:2.5 ratio.

Add breadcrumbs and bake

Then sprinkle the prepared cake evenly with crumbs and place the tray in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 30 minutes. As soon as the edges are brown, the cake is sufficiently baked inside and the surface has a beautifully crispy and fragrant butter crumb, take it out of the oven and let it cool. Then all that remains is to cut this goodness into pieces, add a little sugar and you can serve it to the table.
