For security reasons, the Ukrainian parliament postponed the meeting scheduled for Friday, public broadcaster Suspiľna announced. TASR informs about it according to a Reuters report. “A meeting of the Supreme Council (parliament) was scheduled for November 22, which included questions to the government, but was canceled due to potential security concerns” said Suspiľne.
The order to cancel the meeting states that MPs are supposed to keep their families out of the government quarter of Kyiv. He also quotes deputies who announced that the next session is not scheduled until December.
The meeting was postponed after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia attacked Ukraine with a new medium-range Oresnik (Lieska) missile, which carried a non-nuclear warhead. Putin indicated that “in case of escalation of aggressive actions” more such attacks could follow. They were on Wednesday due to the warning of large-scale rocket attacks closed embassies of the US and other countries.
