Ingredients for sponge pancakes
We will prepare sponge pancakes from ingredients that you can definitely find at home. We usually use clean water for the traditional ones. In this recipe, we add carbonation.
What ingredients do we need to prepare sponge pancakes? Here is their list:
- 250 ml of milk;
- 150 ml of sparkling water;
- 150 g of wheat flour;
- 3 eggs;
- 2 PL sugar;
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil;
- oil for frying;
- a pinch of salt.
Recipe for sponge pancakes
To prepare sponge pancakes, we must first separate the whites from the yolks. Then beat the egg yolks with sugar until fluffy.
In the next step, add milk and sparkling water to the fluffy mass. We do not stop mixing the mixture. Then add sifted whole grain flour, a pinch of salt and vegetable oil.
Beat the egg whites to a stiff foam with a pinch of salt and slowly add them to the egg mixture. Cover the dough and set aside for 15 minutes.
After this time, fry the sponge pancakes in a hot pan with a little fat until they are golden brown on all sides.
What to serve sponge cakes with?
Serve sponge pancakes sweet according to the given recipe. Sprinkle them with cinnamon or powdered sugar. They also taste great with jam, maple syrup, chocolate or whipped cream and fruit.
