A tourist – from Rio de Janeiro – drowned last Tuesday (19), during his honeymoon, at Praia do Futuro, located in Fortaleza (CE).
The victim, identified as Marlos Andrew, had gotten married on the 8th of this month and lived in Curitiba, Paraná. According to the Ceará Fire Department, the team was called around 4pm to respond to a drowning incident.
At the scene, firefighters observed movement of people in the water, when they located the victim unconscious and being taken to the sand strip by witnesses who were present at the scene.
The firefighters then began cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures. However, according to the corporation, level 6 (the most serious on a scale of 1 to 6) was found to be drowning, a level that indicates cardiopulmonary arrest and Marlon died.
Andrews, also nicknamed “marlove,” served as implementation coordinator and was also a guitarist.
On social media, one of the bands – which the victim was part of – lamented the man’s death. “Marlos was much more than a member, he was a mentor, a brother that life brought us. How I loved making you smile, my brother, wringing every smile from your frowning face. I still can’t believe that we won’t be recording next Tuesday here at home”, reported the musical group.
The other musical band – in which Marlos was a guitarist – also spoke out on social media: “It’s hard to believe that you will no longer be on our side, Marlove. You had such a big heart that you carried love in your own name. The busiest guy we’ve ever met, always involved in several projects, several bands, and always with a smile on his face”, published the band.

HAS CNNMarlos’ sister, Ariana Cavalieri, stated that the victim loved the sea and always had the habit of swimming. “Marlos is a very happy guy! Kind to everyone, respectful, very connected to social issues, empathetic, self-taught instrumentalist, zealous”, she highlighted.
According to Ariana, the couple – who were on their honeymoon – would return to Curitiba (PR), this Wednesday (20). She claims that, on the day of the drowning, Marlos’ wife asked them to stay where they were staying and rest. However, the victim stated that he would like to visit Praia do Futuro (CE).
“She realized that he [Marlos] He was far away and tried to signal him to come back, but he couldn’t. She lost sight of him and went into despair, calling people, until he appeared unconscious,” said Ariana.
According to Cavalieri, she found out about her brother’s death over the phone. Marlos’ sister also reports that the victim’s body arrives this Friday (22) in the capital of Paraná.
The guitarist will be laid to rest next Saturday (23), at the Vertical Cemetery in Curitiba (PR).
