The weekend will have favorable conditions for heavy rain in the North, Central-West, Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil. According to a bulletin released this Friday (22) by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet), a warning of intense rain was issued for the region that goes from Amazonas, passing through Rondônia, Mato Grosso, north of Mato Grosso do Sul, south of Tocantins, Goiás, Pará, Minas Gerais and southern Bahia.
For these areas, the warning is for rain with a volume between 30 and 60 millimeters per hour (mm/h) or 50 and 100 mm/day, with intense winds between 60 and 100 km/h. There is a risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.
In addition, rainfall with a volume of between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day and intense winds that can reach up to 60 km/h are also predicted.

Rain showers may occur in Acre and Amazonas, southern Pará, Maranhão, Piauí, Tocantins and Bahia. Rains with the same volume are expected for Mato Grosso do Sul, north of São Paulo, south of Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.
The meteorology also warns of the occurrence of accumulated rain on the south coast of São Paulo, on the entire coast of Paraná and on the north coast of Santa Catarina. In these regions, rainfall of between 20 and 30 mm/h or up to 50 mm/day is forecast.
For the region that covers the eastern part of Bahia, including Recôncavo Baiano, up to Sergipe, Inmet reported on the tendency for a South Atlantic Convergence zone to take shape from Saturday (23), which could persist until Tuesday. (26), which could cause significant volumes of rain.
