Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) criticized this Thursday (21) the indictment of former president Jair Bolsonaro and the arrest of the military in the Federal Police operation, which is investigating an attempted coup d’état in Brazil.

“There is no rationality in revenge. It’s like that couple separating in which both parents use the child, in the worst way, in order to satisfy their personal feelings against their spouse. Alexandre de Moraes does not affect Bolsonaro, but rather democracy”, he wrote the son of the former president.

Regarding the arrest of the military, the deputy highlighted that they were preventively arrested “by narrative of 2022”. “Without an act, there is no fact. If the execution has not started, there is no need to even talk about an attempt,” he declared.

The parliamentarian also added that, “if it were in a decent country, you would be sure that in the end it would come to nothing – a law intern knows this, but we are in Brazil”.

In a video about his father’s indictment, Eduardo Bolsonaro also stated that the PF has managed to “be more creative than the press itself” and cited the fact that the corporation’s report points out that Bolsonaro’s former advisor Filipe Martins had simulated going to the USA to hide from the police. “The press has access to what will still be published by police agencies. Long live the institutions! Don’t stop, don’t rush, don’t go back,” he declared

The PF arrested five people, including military personnel with Special Forces training, the so-called “black kids” – for allegedly planning a coup d’état after the 2022 presidential election. According to the investigations that led to Operation Countercoup, the group intended to murder the then elected president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), vice Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). Sources confirmed to People’s Gazette that four Army soldiers linked to the “black kids” were arrested, such as retired general Mario Fernandes, lieutenant colonel Helio Ferreira Lima, major Rodrigo Bezerra Azevedo and major Rafael Martins de Oliveira. Federal police officer Wladimir Matos Soares was also detained in the operation. In the report, the Army informed that it “does not comment on ongoing processes”, and the PF preferred not to comment on the agent’s arrest.

This Thursday (21), Bolsonaro and 36 other people were indicted in the investigation investigating an alleged attempted coup d’état in the country. The PF sent the report, which is confidential, to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The document is not yet a final version.

After receiving the report, Moraes must submit it to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), which will have two weeks to decide whether to agree with the indictment requests, request archiving or indicate new steps.

Those mentioned will be indicted for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état and criminal organization.
