Although each of us has our own preferences and different levels of sensitivity of taste buds, there is a taste that provides pleasure to everyone – it is umami, the fifth taste, next to sour, bitter, sweet and salty, felt by humans. The word comes from Japanese and literally means “something tasty”. Umami combines all aromas into perfect harmony, providing a full culinary experience. RECIPE: steaks with couscous
Ingredients:
- 2 teaspoons of VEGETA Umami liquid seasoning
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 50 ml prosecco (or red wine)
- a pinch of thyme
- black pepper
- 2 pork loin steaks
- 125 g of couscous
- sun
Preparation method:
Place the couscous in a bowl, pour 250 ml of salted boiling water. Set aside for 5 minutes. Add olive oil and fluff the couscous with a fork. For the dressing, mix VEGATA Umami liquid seasoning with olive oil, prosecco, thyme and coarsely ground black pepper. Lightly salt the cutlets and then fry them briefly in a Teflon pan. Place the prepared couscous on a plate and top it with the sliced steak, pour the prepared sauce over everything and serve.
Tip: Don’t butcher the meat to make a steak, slice it thinly. This will make it juicier after frying.
