One of the first ladies of Slovak acting, Zdena Studenková, found the right one only on the third try. They have been together with the conductor Braň Kostek for 31 years. The couple also overcame people’s prejudices about a relationship in which the man is 17 years younger than his partner. But the wedding bells never rang for them. You will learn why this is so in a separate article.
Because of the young conductor, she left her husband Stanislav Párnický († 77), with whom she has an only daughter, Simona (44). “I was willing to give up everything for Branko. Even my marriage. At that time, I was lucky enough to earn my own house from a foreign TV series. I paid off my ex-husband and stayed in it with my daughter and boyfriend. Financially, however, the severance pay it got so exhausted that we then lived in a small sublet for some time and the house was rented out. It was not the best time and no one knew about it either. I wasn’t bragging,” she revealed to the Czech portal.
Studenková was married twice. Even before the director, she said yes to photographer Ivan Kostroň. They were classmates at the School of Art Industry, where they both studied photography. In the book I am an actress, she recalled their marriage, which lasted only 9 months. “I loved him very much, and he loved me. The boy fascinated me, I believed in his talent terribly, and on the other hand, he was a child who needed to be given space to feel good. I was playing mom,” she described.
She revealed to the author of the book, Ján Strasser, that she wanted to wean the photographer away from alcohol by marrying him. She was even pregnant with him, but decided to have an abortion. “I was very afraid to have a child, so I didn’t have one“, she said openly. When she became pregnant with Párnický, she felt completely different. “I already wanted to have a child. Even a daughter,” admitted Studenková. The joy of the fact that life is growing inside her was overshadowed by the risky pregnancy. She spent long months in the hospital, but finally gave birth to the desired baby girl.
