Cruzeiro idol Marcelo Moreno expressed his confidence and expectations for the final of the Copa Sudamericana, which takes place this Saturday (23) in Asunción, Paraguay.
In an interview with CNN Brasil, the former Bolivian striker spoke about the crucial moment that Cruzeiro is going through. Moreno, who will follow the match closely, highlighted the importance of this moment for the club and its fans.
“After so much suffering, I think we deserve to be in this moment. Cruzeiro fans are happy, you can see the joy of fans in Assunção here,” said the player.
Resurgence of Cruzeiro
The former striker, who experienced moments of glory and also difficult periods with the Celestial shirt, commented on the club’s resurgence after turbulent years. Moreno praised the current management, led by Pedro Lourenço.
“A guy who comes here and buys SAF, manages it well, is already in the finals in the first year he takes over, man, it’s a job that will certainly be crowned well next year”.
Moreno highlighted the importance of passion and seriousness in running the club. “The people who support are the ones who always make the difference. So I hope it continues like this, with a lot of seriousness, a lot of passion, so that Cruzeiro can win even more titles”, concluded the player.
