The task force created by the Public Security Secretariat to investigate the execution of businessman Antônio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach on the 8th, at Guarulhos Airport, carries out search, seizure and arrest warrants this Friday, the 22nd. No details of the action were given. The SSP only confirmed that teams are currently taking steps.
Removal of police officers
Ten days ago, four military police officers who were being investigated by the corporation’s Internal Affairs Department were ordered to leave for escorting the whistleblower. Active São Paulo PMs are prohibited from carrying out escorts, private security or any other activity outside the corporation. Failure to comply is a violation of the institution’s internal regulations and can be punished up to and including expulsion.
As shown by the Estadãofour agents provided private security for Gritzbach on the day the whistleblower from the First Command of the Capital (PCC) was executed in broad daylight – they had already been removed previously. Therefore, there are eight police officers removed from street services.

The actions of civil police officers are also investigated
The Civil Police Internal Affairs Department also monitors the civil police officers who were mentioned in the collaboration agreement signed by the Public Ministry. Part of the extracts from Gritzbach’s statement was forwarded to the institution, which began a confidential investigation in October, with preliminary administrative measures to individualize each person’s conduct.
Police offer reward
On Tuesday, the 19th, the São Paulo Civil Police carried out an operation to try to arrest a suspect of helping the shooters who executed the informer. The suspect, Kaue do Amaral Coelho, was not found by authorities in his home and is at large. A reward of R$50,000 was offered to anyone with information about him. The report was unable to locate Coelho’s defense.
The crime
According to preliminary information in the case, Gritzbach had just arrived at the airport from a trip with his girlfriend and would be received by his son and a group of four security guards, made up of police officers who protected the businessman. On the way to the airport, however, one of the cars they used allegedly had mechanical failure. Three of the security guards would then have kept the vehicle. Thus, only one was at the airport at the time of the attack.

One of the lines of investigation, which is still in the preliminary phase, seeks to understand whether the agents had intentionally left the police officer exposed at the airport. The cell phones of these four members of the escort and Gritzbach’s girlfriend were seized by the DHPP, according to information from the SSP.
The military police officers who belonged to the victim’s security team have already given a statement to the Civil Police and also to the PM’s Internal Affairs Department. They were removed from their operational activities during the investigations and will remain on administrative duty at the request of the Internal Affairs Department. The victim’s girlfriend was also interviewed by investigators. The internal affairs bodies of the Civil and Military Police investigate the actions of the agents.
