Mike Tyson (58) is not upset that he lost in the ring in a fight with Jake Paul (27), because just returning to the sport after health problems is a huge achievement for him. The former heavyweight champion claims he almost died in June. He lost his comeback match to Jake Paul on Friday (November 15) but says he has no regrets and is not feeling too down as he feels he is fit enough to return to the ring.
“It’s one of those situations where you lose but still win. I am thankful for last night. I don’t regret getting into the ring for the last time. I almost died in June. I had eight blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 11 kilos in the hospital and had to fight to be healthy and able to fight, so I won. For my kids to be able to watch me step into the ring and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy Stadium is an experience no human can ask for. Thank you,” Tyson wrote on the social network.
Paul praised the performance of the man who was a role model for him in his childhood. “I like you, Mike. It was an honor. You are an inspiration to us all,” Jake responded in his comment.
