Sporting thrashed Amarante this Friday, for in the fourth round of the Portuguese Cup, thus marking a new era under the command of João Pereira.

After the epic victory achieved in Braga on the last round of the championship, the new helmsman of the ‘lions’ revolutionized the starting eleven: only Matheus Reis, Daniel Bragança, Morten Hjulmand and Francisco Trincão remained in the starting lineup.

After a very strong start, the Alvalade team soon took the lead. Launched by Daniel Bragança, Marcus Edwards covered several meters, left several opponents in his path and finished successfully. The score was thus open after 10 minutes of play.

In the first half there was still time for another goal from Sporting. Just before half-time, Daniel Bragança once again watched Marcus Edwards. The English winger on the line, with the goal at his disposal, didn’t miss a beat to make it 4-0.

In the second half, João Pereira made two changes: Geovany Quenda and Hidemasa Morita took the positions of Jeremiah St. That’s right Morten Hjulmand would be a player from the first 45 minutes to do the trick.

At 57 minutes, a caccurate combination between Conrad Harder and Francisco Trincão, inside the opponent’s area, with the Portuguese international shooting the opposite goal.
