Tectoy, which was successful in the 1990s with the sale of video game consoles in Brazil, announced this Friday the start of pre-sales of a device that doubles as a portable PC capable of playing video games.
Called Zeenix, the same name as Tectoy’s “gamer” division, the device comes equipped with Windows 11, an AMD processor and has the first batch produced in China by a partner of the Brazilian company, said the director of the games and electronics division at Tectoy. TecToy, Klaus Gottsfritz.
“It was designed and developed to be the main computer for anyone who wants to have fun with their favorite games anywhere,” said the executive in response to questions from Reuters.

Despite saying that it is not a video game console, the executive stated in a press release that the model marks a “historic moment for the Brazilian games industry” and that the launch of the device “seals TecToy’s return to the segment” .
According to Gottsfritz, for the first batch, the objective is to test the market and sell 3 thousand units of the device, which is being sold in pre-sale for around 2,700 reais.
The executive also stated that the “trend is that, in the future, Zeenix will be manufactured 100% in Brazil, at the TecToy factory, in Manaus”.
