Slovak writer Jozef Banáš’s novel “Zóna nadšenia” is now also available in French. The new book “Le temps de l’enthusiasm” was launched on Friday (November 22) by the Le Lys Bleu publishing house at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Paris. The embassy informs about it on the social network.

France thus became the thirteenth country in which the most translated Slovak novel Zóna nadšenia is published. Banáš confirmed for TASR that the godfather of the French translation of his successful book was former French politician Pierre Lellouche. Slovak ambassador Ján Šoth welcomed the deputy director of the publishing house Kevan Raffi Khansari, the translator Jana Běhounková and many other guests at the literary dinner.

“It is a captivating story of love and friendship on a European scale, which tells us that even in the most difficult situations, we must look for the beauty of life. I believe that this Slovak novel will be our main title on the pre-Christmas market,” Raffi Khansari commented for TASR on the French edition of Zóna nadšenia.

“French literature is large and has many excellent authors. It is not easy to penetrate among them. What was achieved with the Zone of Enthusiasm is a great success not only for Jozef Banáš, but for the whole of Slovak literature,” Lellouche remarked.

“I look at the Eiffel Tower and wonder if it’s a dream or reality. Le Lys Bleu is a renowned Parisian publishing house, and I’m glad to have made Slovakia a bit more visible again,” he said at the launch of the French translation of the book Banáš.
