The day of the grand final has arrived. Cruzeiro will take to the field this Saturday (23/11), against Racing, from Argentina, to seek an unprecedented title: the Copa Sudamericana. The decision starts at 5pm (Brasília time) and will be played at the La Nueva Olla stadium, in Asunción, Paraguay.

Coach Fernando Diniz, last year’s Libertadores champion with Fluminense, is trying to join the likes of Marcelo Gallardo and Tite as winner of the two biggest South American tournaments. He has no major doubts in the lineup (check out the starting lineup below).

Cruzeiro reached the final after eliminating Boca Juniors, Libertad and Lanús in the knockout stage. Racing went through Huachipato (Chile), Athletico and Corinthians.

Cruzeiro lineup against Racing

After the game against Corinthians, coach Fernando Diniz had already warned that he would have no doubts about the lineup for the South American final. A possible change would be the entry of Lucas Silva in the middle, with the departure of Walace, and that could still happen, but it is unlikely.

With this, the coach goes to the final with a team that has become known to the fans, driven by a strong offensive sector, with Matheus Pereira, Gabriel Veron and Kaio Jorge. Lucas Romero, Walace and Matheus Henrique form the middle.

Cruzeiro Lineup: Cassio; William, Lucas Villalba, João Marcelo and Marlon; Lucas Romero, Wallace and Matheus Henrique; Gabriel Veron, Matheus Pereira and Kaio Jorge. Technical: Fernando Diniz.
