The age group with the highest percentage of debtors is 30 to 39 years old (23.7%). According to the estimate, there are 16.84 million people registered in the debtor register in this range, that is, half (49.6%) of Brazilians in this age group are negative.
The participation of debtors by gender is well distributed, with 51.21% women and 48.79% men.
In October, each defaulting consumer owed, on average, R$4,425.73 to, on average, two companies.
The data also shows that 30.9% had debts worth up to R$500. There were 15.6% with debts above R$7,500.
In relation to the creditor sector, the one that concentrates most of the debts is that of banks, with 64.9% of the total. Next comes commerce (10.5%) and water and electricity with 10.4%.
In regional terms, the highest percentage of defaulters is in the Central-West, where 44.5% of the adult population is included in debtors’ registers. On the other hand, the one with the lowest is the South region, where 36.7% of the adult population is negative.
