Idol of Tricolor fans, 31-year-old center forward Jonathan Calleri is of interest to Flamengo. The striker would be the dream of the red-black president, Rodrigo Landim, who is looking for a new goalscorer with the departure of Gabigol.
According to the Paparazzo Rubro-Negro channel, Landim observes the athlete and sees the potential to replace Gabriel Barbosa. The Rio club has Gonzalo Plata and Carlinhos for the position, and Filipe Luís has chosen to improvise Bruno Henrique.
In the current season, Calleri has 14 goals and 7 assists in 50 matches. Despite not experiencing his best scoring era, Calleri is a natural finisher and would be the reference man in Mengão’s attack.
This is the attacker’s second spell in São Paulo. In the first, in 2016, the Argentine played 31 games, 16 goals and 3 assists, and his good performance earned tribute from the fans with the chant “ôh, oh, oh, touch Calleri, it’s a goal!”.
