The federal deputy (PL-SC) shared on Friday (22.Nov.2024) an excerpt of the song “Despite You”by the singer and composer, on social media. Users mocked the publication, understanding that the post was made in defense of the former president (PL), for an alleged coup attempt.
The federal deputy had made a series of publications in defense of Bolsonaro and criticizing the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court), Alexandre de Moraes, who ordered the indictment, in the posts prior to the song’s lyrics – which supported the users’ interpretation.

Chico Buarque, 80 years old, is an artist committed to the Brazilian left and a name close to the president (PT). The song was written by him during the period of the military dictatorship as a way of criticizing the repression of the regime – defended by Bolsonaro – and fighting for the redemocratization of the country.
