Do you have books at home that you have already read and have no use for? You don’t have to throw them away. You can use them creatively. See what you can do with books you no longer want.
Books are absolutely indispensable in the world. Of course, there are also e-books or electronic readers. But let’s be honest, absolutely nothing beats the sound of paper rustling as you turn the page and that classic book smell. On the other hand, when you have already read a book, it takes up space in your library that could be occupied by a new book, for example, a nice detective story. However, you don’t have to throw out old books that you no longer want. See what to do with them without wasting precious reading and paper.
You can find a Youtube video on how to use old books creatively on the Canterbury Cottage channel:

What to do with old books
If the book no longer serves you, and you are in a creative mood, you can make something from it that will serve you in the home, for example. Since Christmas is coming, you can make little decorative angels from the pages of the book.
Take about 30 pages. Then fold them so that you get the shape of a triangle. Then glue the 29 pages folded in this way to create the body of an angel. Glue a smaller polystyrene ball to the body and make an “accordion” on the last page, which you glue halfway to the angel’s back, creating wings.
If you want something easier, you can turn the book into a hiding place for money or documents. You probably know that from old movies. Open the book at about page 20. Then make a rectangle or square shape in the remaining pages using a knife. Leave a few pages at the end, and definitely don’t cut into the cover. And you’re done. You can hide documents, money or other treasures inside.
You can also make an extravagant lampshade out of an unwanted book. Tear out the pages from the book and cut circles of the same size from them. Take your plain lamp shade that you want to beautify and start gluing the wheels on top of each other.
You should make the wheels big enough to have three rows of them. Do the top row first, then the bottom row, and finally glue the middle row. And you have a unique and original lamp shade that will be the envy of your visitors.
Make someone else happy with books
If you don’t want to destroy books, but they are taking up space in your library, you can make someone else happy with them. The first option is to be a proud Samaritan and donate the books to, for example, a non-profit organization, give them to a children’s home, or give them, for example, to someone in the family who will be happy. Another option is to sell the books.
In the Czech Republic, for example, there is Knihobot, which buys back your old books and makes them available to someone else. You can also sell them, for example, on Vinted, or in any application that allows the sale of second-hand goods. However, whether you want to donate the books or sell them, make sure they are in good condition.
