The icy slope of Gurgl causes the best slalom professionals to slip, only one Frenchman has the slope better than everyone else: Clement Noel achieved the best time in the first round on Sunday morning. The Olympic champion set an example with a time of 52.76 and distanced his first pursuer Atle Lie McGrath (Norway) by 0.88 seconds. Third is the Frenchman Steven Amiez (+0.94), who was strong as in Levi.
