The Federal Police, together with the Public Ministry of Bahia, carried out an operation to dismantle a criminal faction specializing in the illicit sale of firearms.
Operation “Protegido” took place in the Porto Seguro region, on the coast of Bahia. According to the Federal Police, two search and seizure warrants were executed, with the aim of obtaining new evidence in relation to the crimes being investigated.
According to the PF, the investigation continues to identify several people involved. If convicted, those investigated could face more than 20 years in prison.
In addition to the Federal Police, the Special Action Group for Combating Criminal Organizations and Criminal Investigations and RONDESP Extremo Sul participated in the operation.
