Maybe you didn’t know it, but the Slovak passport belongs to the TOP 10 in the ranking of the most powerful. We can go to 184 countries of the world without a visa, which makes traveling much easier for Slovaks. Our reader Naďa, who traveled to Japan with her husband, also loves learning about new cultures. They were attracted not only by a different culture, but also by monuments, nature, cities and, last but not least, food.
The young couple contacted the Koktejl.sk editorial office from Tokyo. The capital amazed them with a huge number of things, but perhaps the biggest surprise was the price of their dinner. “We love sushi and I was really looking forward to it in Japan. It was not a problem to find this type of restaurant there. However, we ended up in one that I had never seen before. It was a small space and in the middle was a counter where two sushi masters were standing. We stood around and ordered via tablet,” Naďa wrote to us and added that they prepared the individual pieces in front of their eyes and then placed them on the sheet in front of her.
“It was a really great experience and I can’t even describe the taste of the fish in words,” enthused our reader. She also described that only 8 customers who were standing around the mentioned counter got into the operation. In addition to a tablet for ordering food, everyone had a hot water outlet in front of them. “We could make as much green tea as we wanted and it was completely free. We would only pay for another drink that we would order from the menu,” she specified.
The pair ate 20 pieces of Nigiri sushi, which is a roll of rice topped with a large piece of (usually) fish. “The whole dinner cost us 22 euros. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I can only dream of such a price in Slovakia. We pay approximately 2.5 to 3 euros for one piece“, concluded the traveler.
