Ingredients:

  • 1 white cabbage,
  • 60 g dried mushrooms,
  • 250 g of coarse barley groats,
  • 1 onion,
  • 2 cloves of garlic,

  • 500 ml of water,
  • 125 ml of vegetable broth,
  • frying oil,
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin,
  • 1 teaspoon of marjoram,
  • sun,
  • pepper.

Place the mushrooms in a bowl and cover with cold water so that they are completely covered and set aside cby at least 12 hoursso e.g. leave them overnight. Bring the pot to a boil 500 ml of fresh, salted water. Meanwhile, rinse the groats under running water. When the contents of the pot begin to boil, put barley groats on it. Cook until until the groats absorb all the waterthen mix it, cover it with a cloth and set it aside.

Wash the cabbage and remove any inedible parts. Pour water into the pot, bring it to a boil and then scald the head in it for 4 minutes on each side. Remove some of the soft leavesput them on a board or plate and leave the cabbage in boiling water for further scalding. Repeat the process until you remove all the larger leaves.

Place the mushrooms and the remaining contents of the bowl into a clean pot. Boil until the mushrooms are soft, i.e. until about 40 minutes. Cooked drain the mushrooms and chop finely. Drain the juice from the sauerkraut and chop it as well. Peel the onion and cut into cubes.

Na patelni warm up portion of oil for frying. When it is warm, start frying the onion in it. Add spices, salt, pepper to taste, cumin and marjoram. Plus press the garlic through a press. Stir and fry for another 2 minutes. Into the pan add mushrooms and sauerkrautmix and fry everything for 10 minutes.

Place the cabbage rolls in an ovenproof dish greased with a little fat. Into the dish add vegetable broth and cover them with a lid. Bake cabbage rolls in 180 degrees Celsius for about 1.5 hours.
