The “Steps that Save” Solidarity Walk took place this Sunday morning (24), in Rio Branco, in support of the fight against childhood cancer. The initiative brought together the community with the aim of providing guidance on preventing the disease.
According to the organization, the event, which seeks to engage the population about the cause, highlights unity, solidarity, health and essential information for those going through difficult times.
The event took place simultaneously throughout Brazil and aims to raise awareness about essential care for preventing childhood cancer.
In the capital of Acre, it was attended by doctors, businesspeople, students and the general population, who participated in the sale of t-shirts, to raise funds to support patients undergoing treatment for the disease at Hospital do Amor. The walk started at 9 am with concentration in Tucumã Park.
“This is a beautiful initiative by Hospital do Amor and it is much more than an event, it is a way of showing that, together, we can raise awareness, warn and defeat cancer, promoting awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis”, says publicist Irineia Barbosa, volunteer and godmother of the initiative.
