Even with this, goalkeeper Weverton, from Palmeiras, asked for patience and stated that the championship is not over yet.

“It was very important to win today, to leave here with three points. We know we’ve been chasing the entire championship, getting the three points today was essential, regardless of the team’s result. Tuesday will be a big game, the championship doesn’t end today, and Tuesday is a big decision”, he said.

Leader for 19 rounds in 2024, 10 in a row, Botafogo sees the 2023 scenario repeating itself, as Palmeiras also overtook Fogão in the 35th round of that tournament. The teams face each other on Tuesday, at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at Allianz Parque, for the 36th round of the Brasileirão.

Weverton also projected the match between the two teams and how Palmeiras can emerge victorious.

“It’s about resting everyone. Today’s victory is over, everything that happened is over. Now, it’s time to think about Botafogo, rest well, see what’s good about Botafogo and what we can explore, so that we can play a great game”, concluded the goalkeeper.
