The body of former governor Flaviano Melo was buried this Saturday afternoon (23), at the São João Batista Cemetery, in Rio Branco, amid emotional tributes from family, friends and admirers.
The last goodbye to one of the most influential politicians in Acre was also marked by the music of Silêncio, by the band of the Military Police of the State of Acre, and by a samba performance, a musical genre appreciated by Flaviano.

Before the burial, the funeral procession walked through the streets of the city, passing by the headquarters of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). Once at the cemetery, the body was received with gunfire, in an official ceremony organized by the State Government.
Flaviano Melo was buried in the family tomb, next to his grandfather, Flaviano Flávio Baptista, founder of the OAB in Acre.
