“I think I’ve done everything I wanted to do in music, but it’s exciting because I feel like I haven’t even started in film and TV, even though I know I’ve been in some big projects and I’m really proud of them. I like having to earn my position and I love telling stories. So, I’m excited to do more of that,” began the artist in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
However, she was quick to clarify that she still hasn’t done everything she wanted to do in the world of music: “Music isn’t going away. I just put it aside for a second.”
The star of the film ““which premieres in Brazil in February 2025, added that the main benefit he gets from acting compared to music is “sanity”.
“You enter a room [de coletiva de imprensa]and it’s really scary to talk about a song, something that maybe was part of your story and isn’t anymore. It’s really hard to sit there and talk about myself. It’s exhausting. But in every interview I did for this film [Emilia Pérez]there wasn’t a single personal question, and I wanted to kiss every reporter on the mouth and just say, ‘thank you,’ because it was so refreshing, and I think this is a safer space for me,” she said.
When it comes to music, Selena reported that she wants to work on a new album, but is not writing songs at the moment.
“I currently have nothing, but I will say that music will always be a part of me. So, I don’t think any movement is happening now, but it will always be in my life,” he declared.
