An eight-year-old child suffered serious gunshot wounds in the British capital London on Monday. The first results of the investigation show that an armed man fired several shots at several people in the car, TASR informs, according to a report by the DPA agency.
The police detained a 22-year-old man in connection with the case. The injured girl and another 34-year-old injured person were taken from the hospital.
Father and daughter were injured
The British agency PA Media reports that the injured are a father and his daughter. Another two-year-old child and a 32-year-old woman were also sitting in the car at the time of the shooting; both escaped uninjured, London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement.
The background and motive of the act were not immediately known, writes DPA. “It’s a terrible incident that left two people seriously injured,” the police added.
According to her, the condition of the eight-year-old child is stabilized. London police have appealed for witnesses who heard the shooting or saw someone fleeing the scene to come forward.
