Autumn crept into our homes and gardens and brought with it not only beautiful colors, but also many gifts of nature. Chestnuts, acorns, cones and colorful leaves. It is from these natural treasures that you can create a beautiful autumn wreath that will enliven your home.
Before you start creating, go for a walk in the park or forest. In addition to chestnuts, you can also collect acorns, pine cones and maybe even some nicely colored leaves. Nature offers an abundance of materials from which you can create a wreath.
At home, all you have to do is find a suitable base for the wreath. A straw circle, which you can get at any hobby store, is ideal. You will then easily attach the individual ornaments to it, either with a hot melt gun or wire.

Each wreath can be original
Start attaching the chestnuts gradually to the straw base. You can place them next to each other so that they cover the entire wreath, or leave small gaps between them to insert other natural materials. If you have a hot melt gun, the application of chestnuts will be fast and solid.
Just put a small drop of glue on each chestnut and attach it to the base. If you don’t have a gun, use a thin wire and attach the chestnuts to the wreath. Both methods have their advantages, whether you are looking for a faster process or prefer traditional manual work.
Leaves and acorns add depth to the wreath
To liven up the wreath, try adding some colorful leaves. Glue them between the chestnuts so that their edges peek out from the wreath, giving the wreath an extra dimension. Maple or oak leaves come in gorgeous shades of red, orange and yellow to add a real autumn touch to your decor. Similarly, acorns, small pine cones and nuts can serve as stylish accessories.
How to keep the wreath fresh
Autumn wreaths made of natural materials have a charm, but they also need a little care to last a long time. Chestnuts tend to dry out, so it is better to place the wreath in a sheltered place where they will not be exposed to direct sunlight or rain.
A great place is, for example, the entrance hall or the interior space behind the window. If you want to revive the wreath, you can lightly spray it with water from a spray bottle from time to time. Thanks to this, it will keep a fresh look for weeks.
Transition to Advent: Easy decoration change
When it’s time for the Advent wreath, you don’t have to throw out the autumn one. You can take it apart and save the individual parts for next year, or transform it into a winter version. Just add pine needles, red berries and perhaps small decorations.
Chestnuts will remain beautiful, so they can serve as a basis for further decoration. A fall wreath can easily become part of your seasonal decor and become a lovely tradition to look forward to year after year.
