Can 8/1 scammers still be amnestied? – 11/25/2024 – TV Folha

At the end of October, the president of , Arthur Lira (-AL), announced that he would create a special commission to deal with the bill that aims to amnesty participants of the January 8th.

More than 1,400 people were arrested as a result of the episode. To date, more than 260 have been convicted. More than 470 defendants have validated non-criminal prosecution agreements.

The sentences reach 17 years in prison and refer to crimes ranging from violent abolition of the democratic rule of law and coup d’état to damage to the Union’s property.
