On November 23, TF1 broadcast a new bonus of season 12 of the . If Marine, Ebony, Marguerite, Franck, Charles, Maureen and Julie were out of danger, this week and thus risked their place. And it was the latter who was eliminated from the competition. Two days after his departure, he returned to his departure to Purepeople.
How are you doing today ?
I’m doing very well. Very happy to have found real life again, to find my loved ones and my family. And I stayed six weeks, so it’s already very good.
What state of mind were you in during this last bonus?
As I was nominated, I told myself that it was perhaps one of the last, so I really wanted to benefit from the performances of the others and my own. I wanted to enjoy the moment as much as possible, that’s what I did. I was very happy.
Before your resumption of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Wordyou saw your sidekick Emma again who had come to surprise you on set. You still had red eyes when you performed. Do you think this has served you well?
The fact of finding Emma just before, I think that played a role. But I think what played the most was that I was really into the interpretation for once. For once, I was proud of myself for that. So, vocally, it didn’t follow. But it doesn’t matter, it happens. I don’t really know why, but it’s okay. The emotion took over at that moment, it made my throat a little tight, so I had a little difficulty singing. But I’m very happy to have done this bonus. There are other performances that went very well, that doesn’t define my adventure.
Ulysses having been saved by the public, you were faced with Maïa. What was going through your mind at that moment?
I was very happy for Ulysses and by being named – this was the third time – I was prepared for the fact that I could leave. The level was so high. And the performances of Ulysse and Maïa were incredible, it was well deserved. Disappointed to leave a week before the tour, obviously, but very happy with my adventure all the same.
Did you expect to leave?
I think I expected to leave. After my performance, I felt it. That’s why I’m not disappointed. I don’t blame anyone, the students’ votes were totally justified.
We had the impression that you often didn’t dare to let go during your performances. This is also what the teachers criticized you for. For what reason?
I feel like I let go more than at the start of the adventure. Afterwards, it’s true that it’s still complicated for me to manage emotions and transmit them. This is something that is difficult. Also letting go of your body without necessarily dancing is something that I have learned and that I will continue to learn. I want to show that I know how to let go completely.
What did the teachers say to you following your elimination?
They were great. They were very encouraging. They loved having me as a student and I loved having them as a teacher. They told me to continue, that it was going to go very well for me. I thank them very much for everything they have done.
You had the chance to, with David Guetta. How did you experience this moment?
It was one of the best times of my life, if not the best. It’s great because we shared it between two people. Alone, we wouldn’t have experienced it in the same way. It was also reassuring to be together. We were already very close. And it was crazy to experience that after three weeks of adventure. I’ve been listening to David Guetta since I was little. It was a bit of another reality, we had difficulty realizing it.
What impressed you the most about this event?
It was the red carpet, with all the fans waiting for us and who knew our names, the photographers and the interviews we did. When we’ve never experienced that, it’s impressive.
Were you prepared for this notoriety before the show?
I didn’t think there would be as much notoriety as that. From an outside eye, it’s not the same as when you experience it yourself, I think. Since I got out, in any case, everything is going very well, I’m having a great time. I went on the networks a little and there is a lot of love. It’s really nice, it’s also thanks to them that I’m here.
How has community life been for you?
It’s a bit reminiscent of summer camps, it was very cool. And we all got along really well from the first week. We felt like we had known each other for years. Afterwards, there were some who tidyed up a little less, others who cooked more, others who did more housework. That’s why Marguerite set up a schedule (laughs). But otherwise everything went well. Personally, I still tried to be a little careful about my things. Afterwards, I still often left my things lying around in the bathroom, but in the other rooms of the castle it was fine.
You were very close to Emma during the adventure, but also to Julie. And in recent weeks, you admitted that you wanted to get into a relationship with her. Did she know the nature of your feelings?
From the start, it has been a pillar of the adventure. For me, she is a very good friend. It’s true that at one point I wanted more, but you have to know that it’s very complicated to be isolated like that. The feelings are strong and we were very close. But, I quickly realized that she was just a friend. We were both clear on that. We can’t wait to see each other again, but as friends.
During the bonus, she called you “little brother” and many Internet users felt sorry for you. How did you feel at that moment?
I really wasn’t disappointed. I was okay with what she said, because that’s kind of how I see her. She’s like a big sister to me. She was there when Emma left, because it was quite complicated for me. Afterwards, I can understand that people saw it like that but I didn’t experience it like that at all.
During the debrief of his performance on Give me timeshe explained that she had wanted to send a message to someone. “I was telling the person that even though I may not be with them, now, I think that if we wait, it can work,” she confided. Do you think she was talking about you?
I think she was talking about an outside person. We talked a lot with Julie but I won’t go into further detail, because it’s her life. But it’s not about me.
