The Israeli army issued new evacuation orders to residents of a suburb east of Gaza City, triggering a new wave of displacements this Sunday (24). A Gaza hospital director was injured in an attack by drone Israeli, Palestinian doctors said.
The new orders for the suburb of Shejaia, published by the Israeli army spokesman on the social network X on Saturday night (23), came about because Palestinian militants fired rockets from this densely populated district in the north of the Gaza Strip.
“For your safety, you should immediately evacuate south,” the army post said. Saturday’s rocket launch was claimed by the armed wing of Hamas, which said the target was an Israeli army base on the border.

New attacks
Images circulating on social media and in Palestinian media, which Reuters was unable to immediately verify, showed residents leaving Shejaia in donkey carts and rickshaws, with other people, including children with backpacks, walking.
Families living in the hard-hit areas began fleeing their homes after dark on Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday, residents and Palestinian media said — the latest in several waves of displacement since the war began 13 months ago.
In central Gaza, health officials said at least 10 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on the urban camps of Al-Maghazi and Al-Bureij since Saturday night.
