Bus fell from a cliff of more than 20 meters and killed 17 people in Serra da Barriga, in União dos Palmares
The president (PT) and government ministers paid condolences to the families of the victims of the bus accident involving 17 people this Sunday (Nov 24, 2024), in Alagoas. The vehicle fell from a cliff of more than 20 meters in Serra da Barriga, in União dos Palmares.

The Minister of Transport, , will be a “sad day for Alagoas”. He was elected senator for Alagoas in 2022. He also told the state governor, (MDB), and the mayor of União dos Palmares, (MDB), to count on his help.
Dantas declared a 3-day mourning period. Manifested “total solidarity” to everyone who suffers from “tragedy”.
Areski Freitas Junior also decreed 3 days of official mourning. He stated that the circumstances of the accident are being investigated and expressed solidarity with those affected.
