Giorgia Meloni believe that in Italia there is a “higher incidence” of cases of sexual violence due to “the immigrants“. “They will call me racist, but there is a greater incidence, unfortunately, in cases of sexual violence by immigrantsespecially those who have arrived illegally,” said the Italian Prime Minister, without giving information about her sources, in an interview with the Semana magazine ‘Donna Moderna’ partially published this Monday.
The Italian president thus once again insists on the story that various representatives of the hardest wing of her Government have begun to transmit since last week. And it does so not only by coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Womenbut also on the day of the judicial sentence to life imprisonment Filippo Turettaa 22-year-old Italian engineering student who beat his ex-girlfriend to death last year, a case that has shocked Italy for months.
Meloni’s argument is that what happens is that “evidently, when you have nothing, there is a degeneration that can lead anywhere.” That is also why, to guarantee the safety of women, one of its objectives is “the fight against massive illegal immigrationone of the issues in which the Government has been most committed”, according to the Prime Minister.
Inevitable
A litany, this one, similar to that of Matteo Salvinithe leader of the League. “Defending girls also means recognizing the inevitable and growing incidence of foreign aggressors,” said the lawyer. It is “a worrying fact that does not in any way reduce the Italian cases but highlights the dangerous consequences of uncontrolled immigration, often coming from countries that do not share Western principles and values,” he added.
The words of both come days after the Italian Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditarasparked a wave of criticism by stating that gender violence is the fault of immigration and that “patriarchy no longer exists.” Words that clash with the reality of the data from the Italian study centers themselves, according to which so far this year there have been about 90 femicides in the country, 90% committed by Italians.
