The titanic efforts that Russia is carrying out in military matters and recruiting troops seem increasingly complicated, and the situation is forcing Vladimir Puitn to have to invent new formulas to encourage its citizens to go to the front on a ‘voluntary’ basis.
And, although recruitment campaigns – in some cases, forced – have been a constant since the beginning of the war, Putin already has few bullets left in the chamber to continue motivating the Russians to go to Ukraine to fight in the war.
Faced with this complicated scenario, the Russian ‘supreme’ leader signed a law last Saturday, November 23, by which he will forgive the loans of all those citizens who apply as volunteers to go to the border to fight for Russia. In many cases, this compensation will not be worth it for the combatants, But in others, it can be an unparalleled relief for entire families, which is why Putin, aware of the situation, could be said to have been astute in this regard.
According to the new law, the Russian state will forgive loans up to 10 million rubles (93,000 euros) in exchange for fighting for a year with the Russian armed forces.
This law will apply to all potential recruits against whom a collection order has been initiated before December 1, and also states that the spouses of the people who go to the front will also be able to benefit from this new law.
According to information published by the agency Bloomberg, a soldier hired by the Russian army could earn about 5.2 million rubles a yearwhich corresponds to about three years of salary in Moscow. It must be remembered that these types of initiatives have been recurrent in recent years, such as financial compensation to the families of soldiers who died on the front.
According to Russian calculations, The army needs about 30,000 new soldiers every month to be able to counteract the loss of human life, which represents a major challenge every 30 days.
